<< Back to Parent Tips Main Page Quality Instrument Give Your Child a Fair Chance Do not demand that your child learn to play the instrument that is available in the family possessions. First, he may have no desire to play this particular instrument, or may not be physically able to handle it. Second, the instrument probably needs an overhaul because of the long storage period, and if he tries to use it in less than top playing condition, he will become discouraged quickly. Third, and this may be the most important reason of all, a family owned instrument may be a step-up model. For a beginning student, step-up models are more difficult to play. Student instruments are specifically designed for smaller bodies. These reasons may cause your child to give up too quickly. So, give your child a fair chance, invest in quality for your quality child. A quality investment will pay dividends. |
