11-Year-Old Virtuoso
Just eleven years old, Jingxuan has only been playing the piano for five years. “I didn’t expect this prize. I was so happy. I didn’t calm down the rest of the night,” he said after winning first prize in the Level 9 Concerto.

Jingxuan, who now has a 7-foot Pearl River grand piano in his Carmel home, practices four hours a day. His parents purchased the Pearl River after carefully considering the quality of instrument required to meet his future professional needs. They were very impressed with the fact that Pearl River has grown to be considered in the world-class performance level.

Although Jingxuan is like most eleven-year-olds with a fondness for television, video games and sports, unlike most of his contemporaries, he has already performed two concerts at New York City’s Carnegie Hall. His resume also includes the fact that he has placed as one of the top 3 finalists for the past 3 years in the State Competition, “Young Hoosier Pianist Competition,” sponsored by the Indiana State Fair and Piano Solutions. The competition attracts nearly 200 piano students statewide.
